Michelle Jacobson-Kwok is a founding partner of List Jacobson-Kwok Thorndal, LLP. She is certified as a Family Law Specialist by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. Her practice focuses on family law litigation cases including dissolution of marriage, child custody, child and spousal support, division of property and domestic violence/civil harassment restraining orders (defense and prosecution). She has successfully litigated complex cases involving international custody disputes, division of businesses and long-term spousal support. Ms. Jacobson-Kwok also offers services as a family law mediator (neutral) and as a consulting attorney or on a limited scope basis. She is passionate about ensuring that her clients feel well-informed and empowered to make the best choices for themselves and their families.
Ms. Jacobson-Kwok served as the Vice Chair of the Alameda County Bar Association's Legal Referral Service's Governing Committee, volunteers on a regular basis in the Alameda County courts assisting self-represented parties and mediating cases for judicial officers and has presented Continuing Education Seminars to other attorneys and legal professionals.
Ms. Jacobson-Kwok is a Bay Area native. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Psychology from San Francisco State University in 2001, a Juris Doctor from University of San Francisco School of Law in 2004 and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2004.
In her spare time Ms. Jacobson-Kwok enjoys spending time with her two children, her dogs, Loki and Rebel, and her flock of backyard chickens. She enjoys cooking, baking and gardening. In addition she is a triathlete and an avid runner, participating in races of all distances from 5k (3.1 miles) to ultra-marathons of up to 50 miles.
